Job Title: HR Adviser

Responsible to: HR Business Partner

Job Purpose: To deliver high quality human resource advice

and support to clients

Salary: £22,000 - £30,000 per annum

New Opportunity 

With school and academy clients across Staffordshire and neighbouring counties, Principal HR Partner is seeking to appoint an HR Adviser who has the ability to demonstrate professional competence and confidence, delivering technically accurate advice to a range of clients. You will have a good understanding of employment law relating to people management policies, including TUPE.  Experience of working with schools or academies and knowledge of the associated national terms and conditions, would be an advantage.

 

Providing first line professional on site advisory and transactional support, you need to have a flexible approach and excellent communication and organisational skills. 

 

You must have your own vehicle and be able to travel to client locations.

Core Responsibilities

Provide first line professional, comprehensive and timely advice and transactional HR support to clients including but not limited to sickness absence, disciplinary, grievance, performance, capability, restructure and redundancies, employee wellbeing and TUPE issues.

Deliver human resource advice in relation to the implementation and development of the Client’s employment 

policies.

Create and develop a range of toolkit materials to support the implementation of client employment policies which are compliant with relevant legislation and applicable terms and conditions.

Respond flexibly in the style and method of provision of advice to meet client need. Create and develop employment policies and supporting documentation in line with EU and UK legislation as well as school and academy specific statutory guidance and national terms and conditions of employment.

Consult and liaise with trade union and professional associations on behalf of the Company and on behalf of clients, as and when required.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the development and when required, delivery of, training programmes for clients.

Prepare and produce training materials and manage associated training administration to support the annual training programme for clients.

Support internal quality systems by ensuring professional records and recording systems are up to date and maintained.

Qualifications and Experience

Detailed knowledge of employment law and best practice in relation to Discipline,Grievance, Managing Attendance, Capability and Redundancy processes.

Experience of delivering HR advice to schools/academies would be an advantage.

Understanding of national terms and conditions in relation to school Support Staff and School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions.

Understanding of governance and school staffing structures. Experience of working with trade unions and professional associations.

Experience of providing transactional and administrative services to support people management.

An appropriate professional qualification and membership of a professional body. E.g CIPD or other [Desirable and can be supported in post]
